Cookie note
Last updated 13 August 2026. This page explains cookies and similar storage on mindtracegrid.digital. Personal data more generally is described in the privacy note.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site can store on your device. Related technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels. Some are needed for the page to remember a choice. Others measure how the site is used. On this desk we keep the set small, because teaching privacy-first measurement while running a noisy tracker would be an odd performance.
Types we use
Essential. Required to remember your cookie choice and to run basic site functions (for example, loading header and footer partials in your browser). These do not depend on marketing consent. Rejecting analytics does not remove essential storage.
Analytics. Optional. Used only if you press Accept on the banner. They help us see which program pages are read, in aggregate. They are not used to build an advertising profile. If you press Reject, analytics cookies are not set by us, and the site continues to work.
Cookies table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| mindtracegrid_cookie_consent | Stores your Accept or Reject choice so the banner does not return every visit. | Until you clear localStorage or change the choice (localStorage, not an HTTP cookie) | Mindtracegrid (first-party) |
| mtg_session_hint | Optional essential hint that a page chrome load succeeded; used only if we enable it for debugging broken partials. | Session | Mindtracegrid (first-party) |
| _mtg_pageviews | Aggregate counts of program and journal page reads. Set only after Accept. | 6 months | Mindtracegrid (first-party analytics) |
| fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com | Delivers Cormorant Garamond and Outfit. May set third-party cookies according to Google Fonts policy. | As set by Google Fonts | Google Fonts (third-party) |
| images.unsplash.com | Delivers photographic images used on course, journal, and hero sections. May log requests at the CDN. | As set by Unsplash / their CDN | Unsplash (third-party) |
How to manage or disable cookies
Use Accept or Reject on the banner. The choice is stored under the key mindtracegrid_cookie_consent. To decide again, clear localStorage for this site in your browser settings and reload. You can also block cookies entirely in the browser; essential storage for the banner itself may then reset each visit.
Browser controls differ. Look for cookies, tracking, or site data settings in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. You can delete only mindtracegrid.digital data if you prefer not to clear everything.
Third-party cookies
Fonts and images are requested from Google Fonts and Unsplash. Those providers may set their own cookies or logs when your browser fetches the files. We do not control their duration or their privacy policies. If you want to avoid those third parties, use a browser extension or network filter; the layout will still work with system fonts and broken image icons.
We do not embed third-party advertising pixels. We do not run a marketing tag manager on this site.
Impact of disabling
Rejecting analytics does not lock programs, journal articles, contact forms, or legal pages. Forms still submit to our mock acknowledgement endpoint. If you block all storage, the cookie banner may appear on every page load, and your Accept/Reject choice will not persist. If you block third-party fonts or images, pages remain readable with fallbacks.
